The British Motor Corporation (BMC) had produced the Mini and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The Mini is a small car. It is the most popular British-made car ever, however it was superseded by the New Mini which was launched in April 2001. The new MINI is larger than the classic Mini. It is around 55 centimetres (22 in) longer, 30 centimetres (12 in) wider, weighing 1,050 kg (2,315 lb) rather than 650 kg (1,433 lb).
